Studio Producer

Part-time · 20hrs/week · £30,000 pro-rata · Liverpool, on-site

Are you a technically skilled Liverpool creative who is passionate about world-class content creation and exceptional customer experience?

Then this may be the perfect opportunity for you.

About the role

The Studio Producer is the backbone of our operation. You are the person our clients trust with their content, their brand, and often their confidence in front of a camera.

A client arrives at the studio — they may be a seasoned professional who's been coming here for years, or completely new to content creation. You welcome them, remember their name, remember their setup preferences, and make them feel like they belong here.

You've already prepared the studio with one of our bespoke podcast setups, or perhaps a more custom configuration tailored to their needs. Sofas, tables, chairs, props, camera positions, lighting, microphone placement — all intentional, all considered.

In the studio, you are the captain of the ship. You're operating our control station, live-switching between cameras, mixing audio channels and taking detailed editing notes that feed directly into our post-production workflow.

But beyond the technical operation, your most important job is making the client feel supported. You read the room, you guide them, you give them the confidence to deliver their best content.

When you're not in the studio, you may be working on post-production — editing, mixing, grading — or contributing to development projects: designing new setups, exploring new content formats, improving workflows.

Who this role is perfect for

  • You're a highly skilled producer first and foremost — confident with cameras, audio, and lighting
  • Technical excellence is your starting point, not what you're working towards

  • You take genuine pride in delivering outstanding customer experiences
  • You can command a room when needed and stay cool under pressure
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, systems-driven environment

  • You're based in or local to Liverpool and able to work on-site

Technical skills

  • Demonstrable experience in videography and audio engineering in a studio or production environment
  • Proficient with video editing software and DAWs (Final Cut Pro and Ableton Live preferred; equivalent NLE/DAW experience welcome)
  • Experience in colour correction/grading and audio mixing
  • A natural eye for visual aesthetics and detail

Bonus skills (not essential)

  • Graphic design
  • Motion graphics
  • Social media content creation

The details

  • Part-time, 20 hours per week minimum, with opportunity for more as the studio grows
  • Fully on-site at Liverpool Podcast Studios, Baltic Triangle, Liverpool
  • £30,000 per annum (pro rata for part-time hours)
  • Start date: ready to move quickly for the right person

Podcast and Content Producer

Remote · Part-time and Full-time available

We're a small, organised production team (currently 3 people) based in the UK, producing podcasts and content for founders, SMEs, charities, and creators. We're hiring one editor to join us.

This is a process-driven role. We'll share multicam recordings from our ATEM Mini ISO with you via a proxy workflow. You'll format them according to our process, complete the edit, and return the finished assets. That's the job.

This doesn't require creative strain. If you're looking for a steady, straightforward role and you've got a capable machine and internet that can handle the files, this could be a great fit.

This role is not for freelancers juggling multiple clients. It's for someone who wants to work with one company, follow clear systems, and do consistently good work.

A note on applications

We read every genuine application personally. In return, we ask that yours is genuinely yours. We want to hear your voice, your experience, and your words — not something generated by AI and pasted in. AI-written applications will not receive a response.

What you'll do

Edit multi-camera podcast and content sessions in Final Cut Pro, following our SOPs. This includes file organisation, assembly, colour correction, audio mixing and repair, and exporting deliverables: full-length episodes (video and audio), short-form social clips, and occasional promos or trailers.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Final Cut Pro
  • Good ear for audio — comfortable with EQ, compression, and noise reduction for spoken word
  • Excellent English communication
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working at pace
  • Systems-minded — you follow processes accurately and flag when something needs to change

Technical setup (non-negotiable)

  • Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer)
  • 16GB RAM minimum
  • 2TB dedicated SSD storage
  • Stable high-speed internet

Nice to have

Motion graphics, animation, YouTube/VSL editing, graphic design.

Schedule

Training and onboarding will take place during UK hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm). Once you're fully up to speed, we're flexible on your working hours as long as deadlines are met and there's reasonable overlap for communication.

How to apply

Applications that do not follow these steps will not be reviewed.

Step 1 — Send a video introduction (required). Record a 1–3 minute video answering:

  • What makes you different from other applicants?
  • How does your experience meet the requirements above?
  • What are your professional goals?
  • Tell us a bit about yourself personally — we're a small team and fit matters.

Step 2 — Include your portfolio link. Show us your best work.

Step 3 — Confirm in writing that you meet the technical setup requirements (include a screenshot of your internet speed) and the hours you're available to work.

Step 4 — Email subject line. Your subject line must include the word "spider" so we know you've read this in full.
